The Netherlands

If the dunes and dikes wouldn’t be there the half of the Netherlands would be standing under water. For this reason the fight against water has been taken for centuries by Dutch men. And now the Netherlands is a hospitable country full of cultures, character and reputation.

Netherlanders are said to be rather sober. This is true to a large extent, but not altogether, for on certain occasions they really let their hair down. Their festivities are a very nice excuse to get together with friends or family and celebrate their own way.

Besides tea or coffee at any time of the day, beer is without a doubt the most popular drink in this country. Nothing is more refreshing for body and mind than a cold HEINEKEN while you are having a good conversation with your friends or family or even alone out in a pub.

All their festivities are good excuse to hang out to a pub or to a café for any kind of drinks. But be aware if you are in a big city like Amsterdam. You will have to be clear on where you want to have a cup of coffee since Café and Coffee Shop are not the same in essence. The Café’s are places where you go to drink coffee, tea, or any other soft drink, Pubs are the places where you go to have a beer or something stronger than that included of course soft drinks. But now Coffee Shops are a different thing, these are places where you can go to smoke marihuana or eating spicy cakes.

As the Country of Tolerance, The Netherlands have their fame in whatever is forbidden to use in other countries. Of course there are rules and laws to respect according to the place you are. But nothing more relaxing and exotic than having a cold beer lying on the sand during a hot summer time at the nude beaches up in Noordholland (North Holland).

On average the nightclubs are open until 2 am in Amsterdam and until dawn in other cities.
