Blackberry Liqueur

A blackberry-flavored liqueur or brandy-based spirit made from wild blackberries, sometimes with other berries, which are macerated and infused in alcohol. Also found as: Crème de Mure

Cloudberry Liqueur

It is made by soaking cloudberries (orange raspberry-like berries that grow wildly in northern Scandinavia) in alcohol for two to six months before it is sweetened and bottled.

Eldeberry Liqueur

Eldeberry liqueur is mostly a home-made cordial very easy, however it takes some time to prepare. You may also find it at the liqueur stores. Common brand: St. Germain


4 cup fresh elderberries
2 cup sugar
1 tsp lemon zest
2 tbsp  lemon juice
1 cup Water
3 cup Vodka


Crush elderberries and sugar in a bowl. Let stand about 1 hour. Add lemon zest and lemon juice. Transfer to an aging container and add the vodka and water. Age in a cool, dark place for 1 month, shaking occasionally. Strain and filter, age for 1 week. Rack and transfer to final container. Age 1 month before serving.

It is called in french: Prunelle Liqueur.  UMESHU is a good alternative as well.

Homemade Recipe


  • 2 lb Plums
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 cups Vodka
  • 1/2 cup Brandy


Wash plums and pat dry. Cut plums in half or smaller, pit. Place plums in aging container. Pour sugar over plums, stir. Add vodka and brandy stirring to partly disolve sugar. Cap container and place in a cool, dark place for 2 months, stir occasionally. Place a strainer over large bowl and strain liqueur. Press liquid from plums with the back of a wooden spoon. Discard plum pulp. Re-strain liqueur through cloth until clear. Bottle as desired. Ready for drinking or cooking but best if aged another month.

Raspberry Liqueur

A sweet bright red raspberry flavored liqueur. You can use Framboise Liqueur (in French).
