It's used to serve any Brandy-containing drinks, it's designed to be cupped in the drinker's hand to warm the spirit and helps evaporate it due to its large surface area, while the narrow top traps the aroma. It holds between 180 to 240 ml (6 to 8 oz) and 60 to 90 ml (2 to 3 oz).
