Venezuelans are primarily characterized by their sociable and outgoing nature; they have a rich and diverse cultural heritage that combined make of this country a fun place to enjoy vacations or hang out in a family gathering. Alcoholic drinks are usually present at most social events and legal drinking age is 18, which it is not strictly enforced.

Venezuelan drinks include juices made from sugarcane, tamarind or coconut. Beer is the drink of choice, and aguardiente, “the popular drink”, which is a hard liquor made from sugar cane, very cheap and available everywhere in the cities and rural areas. Chicha Andina is a traditional drink also enjoyed.
