Scotch Whisky
Scotch Whisky has its origins back to the 11th century when it was distilled first by Christian monks, it was known in ancient Gaelic as "uisge beatha" meaning "water of life", which later evolved into "Whisky" in the English language.
Scotland protected the term "Scotch" to be labelled only in the Whisky distilled exclusively in Scotland with several determined characteristics and conditions. This means that Scotch cannot be produced in England, Wales, Ireland, America, Japan, etc.
