Portugal has a rich wine culture that dates back to the Middle Ages, Portuguese wines are very appreciated around the globe, in particular, the fortified one called Port, known for its sweetness, aroma and bouquets. Among the locals Red Wine is very popular as well as White Wine. Drinking wine during and after a meal is a very common tradition in Portugal, it is an important part of their hospitality and social customs.

Apart wine, Portugal also produces fine liqueurs made from different kinds of spices, fruits, and herbs fermented on local Brandy.
